Can I send money from India to abroad through money transfer operators like Western Union money transfer, MoneyGram etc ?

Currently only banks in India are permitted to implement outward remittances. Money transfer operators like Western Union Money Transfer, Moneygram etc, are not allowed to offer outward remittances in India due to money laundering. You can receive money through money transfer services like Western Union however can not send money from india to abroad.

The Money can be sent to abroad countries using the following modes using banks in India.

1. Wire Transfer
2. Foreign Currency Demand Draft

Banks like ICICI, HDFC, Axis Bank etc has Outward Remittance service to remit money outside india.
