Why Paypal charges Fee amount ?

Have you noticed fee amount, upon receiving the payment via PayPal ?

For example, I was charged $2.04 USD as Fee amount for receiving $60.00 USD
Amount received: $60.00 USD
Fee amount: -$2.04 USD
Net amount: $57.96 USD

Do you know why is this ?

Why paypal fee amount ?

Paypal doesn’t charge any fee when funds comes from PayPal balance or bank account. But, there is a fee associated with the payment if the sender uses a credit/debit card/PayPal Credit to pay the amount or  for the transactions which involves payments for goods or service. This fee amount can be paid by either the sender or the receiver. The sender decides who pays this fee

Fee amount will be = 2.9% + $0.30 USD of the amount send.

If you send $100 using a CC/debit card , paypal fee will be $ 2.9 + $0.30 = $3.20. Net amount received by the recipient will be $96.80.

NOTE: If you are receiving a payment, you can ask the sender to pay this fee(if he/she agrees).
